Bring your group with you
Export the group from Splitwise ("Export as spreadsheet") and import the CSV into Hisaab Kitaab. You see a preview first: match each person with someone in your account or add them as a guest, and enter an exchange rate for any other currencies. Expenses come in with their dates and categories, payments come in as confirmed, and everyone's balance matches what Splitwise showed, to the cent. Importing the same file twice adds nothing twice.
What you get for free
Features that other apps often keep for paid plans are free in Hisaab Kitaab:
- Receipt scanning and itemised bills, with tax, service and tip shared in proportion.
- Multiple currencies per account, with the exchange rate you actually got.
- Recurring expenses, budgets with alerts, and reports by category and member with a 12-month trend.
- CSV export of transactions and payments at any time.
Built for real groups
- Roles: owners, admins, editors and viewers.
- Guests: add people by name before they sign up; they take over their place when they join.
- Share links: a read-only view of the balances for people without an account.
- Kitties for shared cash, and several payers on one expense.
- An activity log of every change, and a 30-day undo for deletions.
Settling up that closes the loop
Hisaab Kitaab suggests the fewest payments, or lets you pay only people you spent with. The receiver's payment details come with a button for PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, Revolut, Monzo, Wise or UPI. Payments are confirmed by the person who received them, and gentle reminders are limited to one a day.
In your language
English, Spanish, Urdu (right to left) and Hindi, with lakh and crore amounts for rupee currencies.
