Roles that match real life
The person running things is the owner. Give a sibling admin or editor rights to add expenses, and make an elderly relative a viewer who can see everything but change nothing. Every addition, edit and deletion is kept in the activity log, with who did it and what changed.

Split equally, by percentage, or by shares when one household counts double. The free calculator can work out a split by income.
