What's new — split later, default splits and Splitwise import
Three changes that save typing, and one that saves starting over.
Split later
Paying at the till with no time to work out who had what? Choose Split later. The expense is saved with who paid, doesn't change anyone's balance yet, and shows up as Needs split in the list and on the Dashboard. If it's still waiting after three days, you get one reminder.
A default split for each account
Couples who split 60/40, flats where the big room pays a bit more: set it once. Tick Use this split for new expenses in this account and every new expense and recurring schedule starts from it. You can still change it on any expense, and stop using it from the Accounts page.
Split by income
On the Percentages tab, Work out from incomes turns everyone's income into percentages that add up to exactly 100. Incomes aren't saved, only the percentages. The same maths is in the free split calculator.
Import from Splitwise
Export a group from Splitwise ("Export as spreadsheet") and upload it from the Accounts page. You get a preview first: match people with members or add them as guests, and enter rates for any other currencies. Expenses keep their dates and categories, payments come in as confirmed, and everyone's balance matches Splitwise to the cent. Importing the same file twice adds nothing twice. More in the guide.
